FEMA Training

The Blair County Planning Commission and Blair County Emergency Management Agency will be holding a floodplain seminar for municipal officials this summer.  This seminar will review municipal responsibilities under the National Flood Insurance Program to ensure compliance with Federal requirements.  We strongly recommend that each municipality send staff that deals with floodplain management, including municipal secretaries, engineers, code officials, inspectors and elected officials.  The seminar will be conducted by state and federal officials intimately involved with the flood program.  The program is being put on by FEMA and they will have FEMA representatives there for Q's & A's.  The session will be held on August 6th at 6:30 PM at the Logan Township Municipal Complex, 100 Chief Logan Circle, Altoona.
