Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting

On Friday, April 29th, the Borough's Shade Tree Commission and several others participated in the annual Arbor Day Tree Planting and Celebration on Allegheny Street.  Several trees were planted by the Public Works Department of the Borough with the help of the Tree Commissioners and Mark Mazur of the Bureau of Forestry.  Arlene Gildea presented a check to the Shade Tree Commission toward the expense of the trees on behalf of the Hollidaysburg Spade and Trowel Garden Club.  The club was awarded a certificate from the Shade Tree Commission. St. Michael School Students were in attendance as well and held the Borough's Tree City USA banner during the ceremony. Mayor Dodson made two proclamations that day; one for Arbor Day and one to honor longtime Shade Tree Commissioner Joe Burger. Thanks, everyone!
