Emergency medical training is provided to Blair County residents and responders through a partnership with Pennsylvania Highlands Community College and Southern Alleghenies EMS Council Inc.

This site provides online training for the National Incident Management System (NIMS) which is required of all responders and support organization staff. Use this link to go directly to FEMA's Emergency Management Institute Independent Study page.​

PA Emergency Management Certification and EMS Continuing Education (Con-Ed) Training

Visit the Pennsylvania Learning Management System (LMS) on the CentreLearn website to obtain free online training needed to become certified as an emergency management staff member or to maintain you certification as an First Responder, EMT, or Paramedic.

Chevy Volt - Electric Vehicle Safety Training

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and General Motors have teamed up to deliver this modular web-based training to explain the systems and hazards found on the new 2011 Chevy Volt, electric passenger vehicle. This highly interactive training tests your knowledge as you progress with concept reviews and a final scenario.

Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC)

The RDPC site provides online training that is aimed at preparing the emergency responder for domestic terroristic threats. There are courses for fie department, EMS, law enforcement, school administration and workplace supervisory personnel.

TransCAER is currently providing a series of videos on this site which on the hazards, properties and shipment methods utilized for anhydrous ammonia. Anhydrous ammonia is a significant risk to responders and the public when an accidental release occurs due to its severe respiratory hazard. This online training can provide you with the knowledge necessary to remain safe when approaching an incident involving this hazardous chemical.
